Undergraduate Representatives Elected to Executive Committee
July 16, 2010
Rob NeSmith, BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN 2011, and Blake Willoughby, KENTUCKY 2011, were recently elected by fellow undergraduates at Grand Council, the International Fraternity's biennial legislative meeting, to serve as this year's undergraduate representatives on the Executive Committee.
“I hope the coming year really gives me a chance to meet Sigs from around the country,” Willoughby says about his experience on the key committee. “With luck, I'll be able to benefit the International Fraternity as well as individual undergraduate chapters.”
Undergraduate representatives on the Executive Committee provide its alumni members with a collegian's perspective on challenges facing the Fraternity. The undergraduates participate in monthly conference calls and attend quarterly in-person meetings with the committee's other members. The undergraduates and other Executive Committee members have equal votes on legislative issues.
Willoughby's and NeSmith's terms last until June 2011, when the next election for undergraduate representatives will be held in Dallas at Grand Chapter, another key Sigma Chi conference.
