Evan Moore


Evan was born and raised on Chicago’s South Side. He graduated from Hampton University, where he majored in history. He holds masters degrees from the University of Phoenix in criminal justice, and from Roosevelt University in journalism. Evan is an award-winning journalist, whose work has been featured in publications such as Rolling Stone, Chicago Magazine, DNAinfo, Chicago Tribune and Ebony, among others. Evan is also an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University’s journalism school, where he teaches a news reporting class. Being on staff at The Magazine of Sigma Chi combines two of Evan’s main interests – journalism and Greek-letter life. With that in mind, Evan hopes to assist in telling the stories of Sigma Chi and its members. Evan is a second-generation member of the Chicago Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Evan is also an avid hockey player who enjoys reading Game of Thrones episode recaps, collecting books/vinyl records and spending time with family and friends.


Job Description: 

As the associate editor of The Magazine of Sigma Chi, Evan’s primary responsibilities include writing feature articles, fact-checking, writing press releases, creating content for the organization's website and writing obituaries on Fraternity members who’ve recently entered the Chapter Eternal.
