Cost of Membership
The health of any organization is dependent upon its individual members to support its collective aim. Sigma Chi is no different. The benefits of membership would not exist without the financial commitment of every member to the organization. The cost of membership over a four-year experience is $465, and does not include individual chapter dues or insurance contributions. Sigma Chi receives financial support for its programs and services for both undergraduates and alumni through the collection of undergraduate fees, various membership programs and the Sigma Chi Foundation.
- Pledge Fee ($90): Assessed to the chapter by the Fraternity for each individual pledged into Sigma Chi.
- Initiation Fee ($175): Assessed to the chapter by the Fraternity for each individual initiated into Sigma Chi.
- Membership Fee ($200): Assessed to the chapter in $100 increments during the two semesters following Initiation.
What is a Pledge Fee?
The pledge fee is a one-time charge, assessed to the chapter, upon pledging the Fraternity. This covers the cost of the pledge manual (The Norman Shield), pledge pin and other resoucres provided to the chapter for pledge education.
What is the Initiation Fee?
The initiation fee is a one-time charge, assessed to the chapter, upon initiation into the Fraternity. This covers the cost of the membership certificate, badge and subscription to The Magazine of Sigma Chi, during your time as an undergradute
What is the Membership Fee?
The Membership Fee are assessed to the chapter on bahalf of every undergraduate member to fund leadership programs, chapter support, alumni services and the day-to-day operations of the Sigma Chi International Headquarters.
What are Chapter Dues?
Individual chapter dues, differ from chapter to chapter, but should also be considered as an additional financial obligation when choosing to join the Fraternity. Pease note that many chapters include the above mentioned undergraduate fees as a part of their local chapter dues. Contact your local chapter for more information about their chapter dues structure.
